At about 10pm on Thursday 16 August 2012, the victim, a 44-year-old man, was walking through Victoria Park on Knutsford Road.

He walked past a group of teenagers who were approximately 18-years-old and dressed in dark clothing.

One of the group engaged him in conversation before another attempted to steal his mobile phone.

The victim was then punched in the face and his mobile phone and cash were stolen.

The victim suffered a broken cheekbone in the attack which required treatment at Warrington Hospital.

DC Carl Davis of Warrington CID said: "We would appeal to anyone who was in the park at this time who might have witnessed this incident or has any information which might help with our enquiries to come forward."
