Police appeal for help on anniversary of his disappearance

Paul Morson

Still no body found in Huyton murder case

Detectives investigating the murder of a Huyton man whose body has never been found are appealing for the public's help on the anniversary of his disappearance.

Paul Morson was last seen in a friend's borrowed van on Tarbock Road, Huyton on June 8 last year.

The van, a Renault Kangoo, was found abandoned by the roadside on the A50 in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire two weeks later and despite repeated police appeals, Paul 's whereabouts could not be established.

Paul 's disappearance was treated as a 'high risk' missing person enquiry but in October last year detectives arrested three men from Huyton, Knotty Ash and Whiston on suspicion of his murder.

Although three people have been charged with Paul 's murder, his body has never been found by the police and today, on the anniversary of his disappearance, detectives are appealing for information that could help bring his family closure.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Brunskill from Merseyside Police's Major Incident Team, said: "Through extensive enquiries we believe Paul was murdered shortly after the last confirmed sighting in Huyton on June 8. His disappearance was so out of character and unusual that we treated it as a high priority missing person enquiry from an early stage. Sadly, our investigation led us to believe that he had been killed and his body disposed of in some way. Paul 's family and partner have been left devastated by what has happened and have not even been able to mourn his death in the way they want due him having not been found.

"I am confident that someone out there still has information that could help the family deal with their tragic loss by helping us find his body. I would urge people who do know to search their consciences and imagine what Paul 's family are going through and do the right thing. Anyone with information that could help us achieve this on behalf of the family can do so completely anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Or if they want to talk to the police, my team are available on 0151 777 8660."
