Woman attacked on mobility scooter in Warrington

49 year old punched in the back

Police are appealing for information following an assault which took place in Warrington.

At about 2.30pm on 2 July 2012, the victim, a 49-year-old woman, was riding her mobility scooter on the pavement on Tanners Lane, outside the Eric Moore Health Centre.

She was involved in a verbal altercation with a young man who was standing at the pedestrian crossing. After an exchange of words, the man then assaulted her by punching her in the back.

The victim sustained bruising and soreness to her back.

The offender is described as white, around 5′6" tall, in his early twenties and of medium build. He had light brown hair with a long fringe, quiffed backwards. He was carrying a rucksack on his back and spoke with a local accent.
