Each local commercial radio station in the UK has certain requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. Automation & Local Programming
We are locally programmed from 6am till 7pm every weekday.
On Saturday from 6am till 6pm, Sunday from 8am till 12 noon.
The station supports a number of local charities through the year including our Local Hero Awards and annual Christmas Toy Appeal. Wire FM's Charity of the Year is the Warrington Disability Partnership
News & Sport
Wire FM news bulletins are broadcast weekdays between the hours of 6am & 6.30pm, in addition to news and sport headlines at 6.30am, 7.30am, 8.30am, 5.30pm & 6.30pm.
On weekends locally produced news is broadcast on a Saturday between 8am & 1pm and on Sundays between 8am & 12 noon. Sky News Radio is broadcast at other times.
