Tribute planned to victims of Manchester terror attack

THE BRIT Awards will pay tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack tonight.

Insiders have told The Mirror that respect will be paid to the 22 people who lost their lives following the bombing at the Ariana Grande concert last May in what is sure to be a monumental performance.

A source said: “It will be the biggest talking point of the night. The whole industry wants to come together to pay their respects to the victims.

“The effects of that terrible night resonated far and wide in the music industry and it’s only right everyone comes together to pay their respects.”

After the tragedy Ariana, 24, returned to Manchester to organise the One Love concert in aid of the victims and featured an all-star line-up that included Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Take That and Katy Perry.

Last month her manager Scooter Braun revealed the huge impact the tragedy had on Ariana.

Speaking on the Big Questions with Cal Fussman podcast, he said: “When she found out that fans of hers had died she was so sad.

“She cried for days, she felt everything - every face they announced, every name, she wore on her sleeve. Every bit of emotion because that’s who she is.”

Ariana and Scooter, who is also Justin Bieber’s manager, visited the families and injured at the Royal Manchester Children’s hospital – something which Scooter described as the “hardest two hours of either of our lives”.

He recalled: “After the first family I had to help her, she was distraught and I was lost. It was beyond tough. But every single time we got down we reminded each other we get to go home.

"We didn’t have the right to be so sad we couldn’t continue. The terrorist made a mistake… they picked the wrong goddamn show,” Scooter said.

“Because if they thought we were going to roll over they don’t know Ariana and they don’t know me.”

Ariana returned to Manchester on June 4 to lead a One Love Manchester benefit concert raising funds for the families affected by the terror attack.
