Detectives investigating two overnight burglaries at pubs in Widnes are appealing for information and footage from the public.

The incidents at the Horse and Jockey on Birchfield Road and at Widnes Conservative Club on Victoria Road occurred on consecutive nights.

Two unknown males, one of whom was wearing a grey hoodie, broke into the Horse and Jockey pub between 12.30am and 12.45am yesterday, Monday 3 June.

Widnes Conservative Club was broken into at around 1.50am today, Tuesday 4 June.

A quantity of cash was stolen from both pubs.

Enquiries in relation to the incidents are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with any information or footage that may be relevant to their investigations to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Roberts, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: “The burglaries were carried out on consecutive nights.

“There is no evidence at this stage to suggest that the burglaries are linked but we are keeping an open mind.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are determined to catch those responsible and bring them to justice.

“As part of our enquiries we are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the Horse and Jockey pub on Sunday night or Widnes Conservative Club on Monday night and witnessed anything suspicious to get in touch.
