Body Pulled From River In Warrington

Cheshire Police has confirmed that a body has been found in the River Mersey in Warrington.

Officers were called to reports of a body in the water near to Wharf Street in Fairfield and Howley.

Under water search teams went to the scene and pulled the body out of the water at around 3.15 pm this afternoon.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages and that it's too soon to identify the body, but have confirmed that it is the body of a man.
