Detectives have released CCTV images of three men they want to speak to in connection with an armed robbery in Lymm.
At around 9.45pm on Sunday 12 May three men entered a convenience store in Chaise Meadow and threatened staff with a machete and hammer while demanding cash and cigarettes.
The men stole around £6,000 in cash and cigarettes before leaving the store along Birch Brook Road and getting into a small grey car and driving in the direction of Mill Lane.
One man is described as white, between 5’10 and 6’ tall, aged 25-30, broad and very well built. He was wearing all black clothing including a shiny nylon balaclava, gloves, trousers, shoes and a hoody with a big white logo and words say ‘POLO NYC’ on the front. He was carrying a black bladed machete with white paint on the side and spoke with a Partington or Carrington accent.
The second man is described as white, between 5’7” and 5’10” tall, aged 25-30, and wearing all black clothing including a balaclava and gloves. He was also carrying a silver headed hammer with an old wooden handle and had a blue bag with grey handles and lettering in his possession.
The third man is described as white, 6’ tall, aged 25-30, of a muscular build and with long dark hair coming out the back of his black balaclava. He was wearing black gloves, a dark blue or black jacket with a light grey hood and cuffs, and black trousers and shoes.
Detective Constable Rob Thorpe, of Warrington CID, said: “This was an armed robbery which left staff inside the store understandably shaken but thankfully unharmed.
“I’ve released these photos as I believe the men have important information to help with our investigation.
