40-year-old Angela Craddock died at her home in St Elphins Close last month
Cheshire Police are being investigated following the death of a woman in Warrington.
40-year-old Angela Craddock was found with serious injuries at a house on St Elphins Close on April 10th last month and later died in hospital.
54-year-old William Smart has been charged with her murder.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct is looking at the response by Cheshire Constabulary to information they received in the week prior to her death.
Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) Regional Director Amanda Rowe said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Angela Craddock.
"Our investigation is underway and is progressing well.
"Though our work is in the early stages, we have already established a timeline of events regarding information given to Cheshire Constabulary prior to Ms Craddock's death, and will now work towards clarifying what they knew about William Smart and what action was taken."
