Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with an attempted sexual assault in Warrington.
The incident is believed to have taken place at approximately 4.45am on Sunday 28 June on Knutsford Road, close to the Barry Street junction.
The victim, a 27-year-old local woman, was walking along Knutsford Road when she grabbed from behind by an unknown man who pulled her to the ground and attempted to take her into a secluded area.
As the offender was moving the victim he was disturbed by a local resident, causing him to flee the scene. As a result of the incident the victim received cuts and grazes to her shoulder and ankle, although she did not require hospital treatment.
The offender is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 9inches tall, of medium build, late twenties to early thirties, clean shaven with short black styles wavy gelled hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing blue jeans with a red tracksuit top with white stripes down arms and a white motif on chest.
DC Elaine Flynn from Warrington CID said: “We are currently following up a number of lines of enquiry and are keen to speak to anyone who is able to assist with our investigation.
“I would also like to remind all local residents in the area to be vigilant and exercise caution and stay with friends when out at night.”
