Microlight plane comes down near Warrington

At approximately 6.45pm on Thursday 23 July Cheshire Police were called to reports of that a microlight plane had come down in Burtonwood, Warrington.

Officers attended the scene and found that a one seater micro light plane had come down in a field close to Hall Lane Farm, Burtonwood, Warrington.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Air Ambulance attended the scene and the pilot, a 36-year-old man, suffered head and leg injuries and was air lifted to hospital.
 

A cordon was set up and a fuel leak from the aircraft was contained. The powerline was isolated by the electricity company.

The incident has been reported to the Civil Aviation Authority.
