Residents Evacuated As Blaze Rips Through Widnes Industrial Estate

Several residents have been evacuated from their homes following a major fire in Widnes.

The blaze broke out at the Golden Triangle Industrial Estate in Harrison Street last night.

On arrival crews found a warehouse measuring 30 metres by 50 metres well alight.

One man was given first aid by firefighters before being handed over to paramedics.

Sixteen fire engines were deployed through the night, that's now been reduced to four with the fire now under control.

Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Approximately 100 domestic properties have been evacuated as a result of the fire.
