Two Years On: Special Concert To Take Place In Memory Of Viola Beach

It's been exactly two years since members of the Warrington band Viola Beach were killed in a car crash in Sweden

A special concert for the families of Viola Beach and their manager Craig Tarry will be held at Priestly College today.

All four band members, Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin studied at Priestley.

As well as the concert to mark the two year anniversary a memorial is being planned by the college

"Priestly have supported a move to have a permanent Viola Beach stage in the cafe" Ben Dunne, dad of River Reeves said

"They all drank coffee and hot chocolate in the Wicked Cafe at Priestley and Mike Grainger who taught them all has put together a number of bands across the day.

"When we see these upcoming bands making fantastic music it is a bit bitter sweet, because of course it takes us back to seeing Viola Beach at the same stage.

"There is no way of sugar coating it, it's very difficult"
