"Once a Viking Always a Viking" - That's the message Widnes players and supporters will spread tonight when they come together to remember Kato Ottio
A minute's silence will be held before the friendly with Whitehaven to remember the tragic 23 year old who passed away after collapsing in training earlier this week.
The Papua New Guinea international was due to travel to England this week to link up with his new team mates.
The centre passed away after collapsing following an 8k run.
Fundraising for the 23 year old's family has nearly reached £9000.
Club Chief Executive James Rule said
"It's so unprecedented really I think the age of Kato as well makes it that much harder as well being just 23 so words are going to be a little insufficient at this time and hopefully are gestures will go some way to easing that grieving process.
"Once a viking always a viking, I think that will be very touching to Kato's family and the people of Papa New Guinea to see what it means to our supporters, once you commit to us we commit to you and I think that will be demonstrated on Friday"
