Warrington Man Charged With Murdering Wheelchair User

A Warrington man has been charged with murdering a wheelchair user in the town centre.

Daniel Sharples, aged 37, of Grisedale Avenue in Orford, was charged at Liverpool Crown Court today (Monday 6 Januay).

He pleaded not guilty, he's been remanded into custody and is due to stand trial on Monday 18 May.

The charge relates to an incident in Crown Street at around 12.15pm on Sunday 6 October.

The victim, Michael Mairs, aged 53, sustained serious injuries during the incident and died three weeks later on Monday 28 October.
